Josef came to Greece because he didn't know where else to go.

He stays because something about Astypalea—and its people—begins changing him.

Josef did not come to Astypalea looking for another relationship.

That is precisely why the possibility of one becomes so powerful.

Dimitra is the rebellious daughter of a local fisherman, and an

archaeologist with an eternal perspective.

Josef has never met a woman so alluring and wise, never even imagined one.

She represents the possibility that Josef's future does not have to resemble

the one he had planned.

One problem: 1980 on Astypalea might as well be 1900. You don't touch, you don't even look at the girl. Or else.
